The 2012 IMC Proceedings Procedure

Everybody who registered a lecture or a poster was invited to deliver a paper before or at the IMC to assure a timely production of the Proceedings. 23 papers have been received by end of September, the other papers are expected to arrive in the next two months. The editing procedure goes as follows:

• When a paper is received a quick check is made and the author receives an acknowledgement of receipt;
• Pre-editing is done by Paul Roggemans (first reading, if necessary rewriting/correcting English language, preparing the LaTex version and adapting figures for black and white printing);
• When required, a referee is asked to verify the science (math's etc);
• Final editing is done by Marc Gyssens (second reading, adjusting English language, make the page lay-out camera ready);
• First proofreading by Paul Roggemans, corrections made by Marc Gyssens;
• Second proofreading by an independent expert, corrections made by Marc Gyssens;
• The final corrected version is sent the author to request her/his approval, final corrections might be made by Marc Gyssens;
• The final PDF will be put online on this website;
• When all papers are ready the 2012 Proceedings volume will be compiled by Marc Gyssens, suitable IMC photo's selected to be inserted under the articles and all cover pages and other Proceedings documents be prepared by Paul Roggemans.
• The final camera ready copy will be distributed for a final quick check by 5 proofreaders.

In optimal circumstances we manage to do 3 papers per week, for the 60 papers of this IMC we need at least 20 weeks of time + some time to compile and check the final camera ready copy. In optimal circumstances the procedure will be completed in 6 months. Delays in the past were mainly due to late delivery of papers.
